Twenty Essex gives a warm welcome to Daniel Kalderimis this week. Daniel, formerly of Chapman Tripp and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, has over 20 years’ experience as an effective and proven advocate who provides an edge in complex commercial, public and international law disputes. Within his broad practice, Daniel has a dedicated focus on advocacy in international arbitrations and cross-border disputes across the Asia Pacific region. He is also active before the courts in the emerging area of legal duties and climate change.
Daniel’s international practice will be conducted through Twenty Essex in Singapore. He will continue to reside in New Zealand where he is a member of Thorndon Chambers in Wellington and Richmond Chambers in Auckland.
In a joint message, Duncan Matthews QC and Stephen Atherton QC, co-Heads of Twenty Essex, commented:
“We are very pleased to welcome Daniel to Chambers. His international practice is a perfect fit with Twenty Essex in combining expertise in commercial litigation, public law and international arbitration. For over a decade, Daniel has been committed to an international dispute resolution practice in the Asia Pacific region, with strong connections to Singapore. He is therefore also well placed to enhance Chambers’ active involvement in the area from its base in Singapore.”
Daniel says: “It is a real privilege to join Twenty Essex, which has a deservedly stellar reputation in international arbitration and public international law. My focus with Twenty Essex will be on contributing through its Singapore office to further developing an Asia Pacific advocacy practice for commercial and investment treaty arbitrations and cross-border disputes, as well as advice on public and private international law issues.”
