Another one for the books: celebrating success in the 2025 legal directories

Thank you to all our clients, peers and partners who have supported Twenty Essex over the past 12 months, and your contribution to some excellent results in the legal directories. We couldn’t do it without the challenging and inspiring work that you share with our team.

Legal 500 UK Bar guide 2025, October 2024

This year, we were very pleased to see our barristers and arbitrators receive 30 new individual rankings in nine different practice areas, including first directory rankings for barristers Rupert Hamilton and Courtney Grafton and full-time arbitrator Sarah Grimmer. In addition, 37 instances of improved rankings reflect growing strength across chambers, from commercial litigation, banking, crypto and fraud, to shipping, commodities, and public international law.

Overall, in the Legal 500 UK Bar guide, 78 different members of chambers hold more than 220 individual rankings in 20 different practice areas.

In this year’s guide, our barristers and arbitrators received 15 new individual rankings, and 30 rankings that were improved since last year. Socrates Papadopoulos received his first ranking, in the Shipping & Commodities category.

Overall, in the C&P UK Bar guide, 69 different members of chambers hold more than 135 individual rankings in 19 different practice areas.

In December, Lexology Index published their Arbitration 2025 report, which features 25 members under Twenty Essex auspices – including two nominated as ‘Thought Leaders’ and three as ‘Future Leaders’.

And to round off the calendar year, Chambers & Partners listed several members in their Asia-Pacific guide, including a new dispute resolution rank for Nakul Dewan SC.
