Stop Ivory begun in February 2014 with the aim of banning all trade in ivory. Penelope Nevill has been actively involved in the campaign assisting with drafting a legal opinion alongside Mishcon and Blackstone Chambers which has just been released. Penelope has been working on the campaign for two years on a pro bono basis.
The legal opinion looks at how HMG can close Britain's Ivory market. For further insight please read the opinion attached.
The news comes a day after the British Government's announcement to stop the trade in 'modern ivory' as a first step towards closing the UK's ivory trade. The news featured as a front page story in The Times: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/britain-to-crack-down-on-illegal-ivory-trade-52w6066xs
