Technology and dispute resolution: innovation, disruption, evolution

As a founding member of London International Disputes Week (LIDW), 20 Essex Street is pleased to be one of the hosts of an interactive session which will focus on technology and its increasingly vital role in dispute resolution. The session will be held at the offices of CMS in London at 2pm on the first day of LIDW: Tuesday 7 May.

The event will explore:

  • How Courts and arbitral institutions are developing innovative processes and procedures to resolve disputes in the technological age.
  • As technology continues to infiltrate or take over traditional businesses and sectors, the need for legal systems to find answers to novel and difficult questions.

This three-hour session will include an evolving and exciting case study panel to include Paul Lowenstein QC of 20 Essex Street involving a business-critical cross-border cyber incident, highlighting how the English jurisdiction and cutting edge technology and innovation can be deployed to secure immediate and vital results, including injunctive relief: (1) to prevent further unlawful activity or the publication of the same, including on social media; and (2) to freeze assets, including bitcoin wallets (3) to seek effective cross-border disclosure to allow stolen assets to be rapidly traced across the world.

For further details and to register your interest, visit the LIDW website. Please note that registration for the session can only be carried out as part of registration for LIDW and not through 20 Essex Street. Spaces are limited and it is advised to register as soon as possible.
