Duncan Matthews QC co-head of 20 Essex Street discusses the changing dynamic between in-house counsel and the bar in an interview with James Mayer of Legal Week in advance of the Corporate Counsel Forum Europe 2016 to be held in September.

As in-house counsel become more involved in the selection of barristers looking beyond the usual suspects proffered to whether the person has the right skillset needed for the job, so too are barristers become increasingly aware of the role of the in-house counsel and their need to be “fully informed about the case and how it is developing”. The result is a changing dynamic with “much greater tie in between in-house counsel and external advisers”. Watch the video for the full exclusive interview.
