We are very pleased to welcome Katie-Beth Jones, who has joined the Twenty Essex team as head of business development for Asia-Pacific, based in our Singapore office. Katie-Beth brings over a decade of experience in commercial development in the region, including with a major global legal technology business, where she was responsible for establishing the Singapore office and scaling up the firm’s operations across the APAC market.
Katie-Beth will bring her market knowledge, insights and skills to bear on further expanding and enhancing chambers’ services and profile, from New Zealand to north-east Asia to the Middle East. She provides a vital first point of contact for current and prospective clients across the region, while working closely with practice management colleagues in London to provide access to the expertise and experience of all our exceptional barristers and arbitrators, and to ensure that Twenty Essex maintains its reputation for outstanding client service.
Our base of operations at Maxwell Chambers in Singapore and network of APAC-based barrister and arbitrator members together provide invaluable support for commercial dispute proceedings before the major Singapore tribunals as well as in emerging international courts, such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Twenty Essex members are currently based in Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand, and UK-based practitioners are frequent visitors to the region.
Jemma Tagg, chief executive at Twenty Essex, said: “We are delighted to welcome Katie-Beth to the team, and to introduce her to our network of clients across the Asia-Pacific region. Our Singapore base, and our ability to serve clients’ needs in a responsive and informed way – while enabling them to access all the skills and experience we have among our barristers and arbitrators, wherever they’re based – is an incredibly valuable offer, and a key reason why we’re so well positioned to take on the biggest and most complex international disputes. We are excited to continue building on and investing in Singapore and emerging markets across the Asia-Pacific region.”
Upon taking up the post, Katie-Beth said: “I am delighted to be joining Twenty Essex in Singapore and contribute to the continued success of chambers in the Asia Pacific region. Having had the pleasure of knowing several members of chambers over the last decade, I am very excited to be part of such a prominent set. While the Singapore legal market is a familiar one, I look forward to sustaining chambers’ valued local relationships and connecting with new colleagues here and in other jurisdictions across the region.”
