Claimants advised by an all-Twenty Essex Street team (comprising Julie Anderson, Monica Feria-Tinta and Alistair Wooder) and Irwin Mitchell LLP successfully persuaded – at the pre-action stage – a school to change its uniform policy to give girls the option of wearing trousers and shorts with immediate effect.
The Claimants had challenged the School’s previous “skirt-only” policy on the basis that it was discriminatory and unlawful, contrary to the Equality Act 2010 and Human Rights Act 1998.
